The Jhula Devi temple in Ranikhet is known to be a blessing to the locales of the area. Believed to be a humble god who grants wishes to her devotees, the myth continues to attract a good crowd to the temple. It is said that the idol of Goddess Durga was unearthed by a shepherd, who was apparently guided by the goddess in his dream. The significance of the idol is that the goddess has the powers to fulfil the wishes of her devotees and protect the wild animals of the area.
