Almora is a 500-year old hill station in Uttarakhand at a distance of 364 km from Delhi. At Almora, you should definitely check out the local market where you can buy traditional Pachmarhi shawls, scented candles, and copperware. In fact, Almora was at one time well-known for its copper mines. Almora is like a tripod on which you can set your camera if you want the best Himalayan views on this side of the border. You must also visit the historic Almora Jail that at one time housed illustrious men like Pandit Nehru. Due to the nearly-endless number of tourist attractions, Almora is one of the best places to go on a road trip from Delhi.

Rohru, now one of the best hill stations near Delhi, was developed as a fishing resort by Raja Bajrang Bahadur Singh Bhadri, the Lieutenant Governor of Himachal Pradesh. They say an apple a day keeps a doctor away. We say when in Rohru, eat apples all day. You see, this hamlet is part of the famous 'Apple Belt', the richest source of apples in the country. Rohru doesn't have too many accommodation options, but Shimla has. Shimla is the closest major city and has some great hotels you can check out. Rohru, at a distance of 438 km, makes for a great road trip from Delhi. CWhen it comes to tourist destinations, Udaipur's a hot favourite. You see, like fine wine, Udaipur is an experience. The easy-going life of the locals, combined with the pride they have in their Rajput heritage, coupled with the warmth with which they greet you, is what makes this once-mighty stronghold a treasure. Udaipur has tons of places to explore, so you should spend a couple of days here. There's Lake Pichola, then the Sajjangarh Palace, and so many lakes you'll lose count.
