Tsomgo Lake
We can’t talk about the lakes of Sikkim without mentioning the wondrous Tsomgo lake. Yes, this lake is that beautiful! Silver firs and pine trees form an outline of the lake that is spread over a kilometre. What’s so special about the trees? Well, with every changing season, the lake and the surroundings change too! For instance, the water turns misty green during the winters, the thick mist makes visibility low in the monsoons, and vibrant colours light up the place during the springtime. Wait, there’s more to this lake! A wide variety of flowers adorn the lakeside. Imagine clicking pictures in front of such a colourful background! The list of visitors to this lake also includes a diverse group of birds. Making this lake a treat for the bird-lovers as well. An interesting fact, the locals call this lake ‘Changu Lake’. What does that mean? It means the source of many small rivers.
