Satluj
Our first destination among the Punjab 5 rivers name is the largest one, Satluj! This river originates from the Rakshastal Lake in Tibet. However, some geologists consider Mansrover Lake to be its origin because Mansarover Lake overflows into Rakshastal Lake. Anyhow, after its origin, the Saltuj travels through Himachal and then enters Punjab through the Ropar district. After that, the river goes through Amritsar and finally merges with river Chenab near Pakistan’s Uch Sharif!
Well, the appearance of the river in Punjab is beautiful! Covered by greens on both sides, the river is a sight to behold! But it is not just the scenic beauty that makes it a major Punjab attraction. The many irrigations and hydroelectric power projects are also major contributions of the river! It is quite obvious that the banks of river Satluj are quite long. So, the best way to explore it will definitely be a drive through the banks! And while driving through, make sure to see the Nangal Dam, Nathpa Jhakri Dam, Karcham Wangtoo Dam, Karcham Wangtoo Dam, Nangal Dam and Nathpa Jhakri Dam.
