According to reports, the cost of funding the project, as estimated, comes up to INR 1,50,000 crore. This will be inclusive of the land and water villas that the project plans to build. Aside from the villas, the project has also initiated plans to construct newer infrastructure including new airports, floating jetties, seaplanes and helicopter services. The idea behind adding additional infrastructure to the project is to upscale the tourism of Andaman and Nicobar island as well as of Lakshadweep. The water and land villas, along with the necessary transportation, will further enhance the tourism of these island states. A PPP model (public-private partnership) has been incorporated, and bids for the seven projects that need to be developed on priority have already commenced. The proposal made by Niti Aayog further claims that about 125 rooms shall be constructed in the water villas.
