Live It Up
We know you’re one tough cookie, but we understand that even the toughest cookies need a little checking in, from time to time. So, here’s a little reminder from us to you, read on and remind yourself to:
Try and avoid over-planning the teeny-tiny details of your day and give yourself some buffer time every day. Remind yourself that there’s no harm in going at your own pace, you don’t have to rush to do anything.
Remind yourself that it’s tough to maintain focus sometimes and when you’re not able to do that, cut yourself some slack. You may not be able to put responsibilities off completely but try and divide your to-do list into smaller do-able chunks, so you can feel more at peace. And don’t forget to give yourself truckloads of hugs, kindness and appreciation for everything you do for yourself and others.
We’re all so occupied with doing multiple things a day, it may be slightly difficult for you to put everything down and just relax. But think of this as a little gift to you from you! Try to mute the chaos for a little while every day and hit the refresh button on your mind. If possible, keep some time for a mental and physical detox where you can close all the tabs in your mind and just focus on decluttering.
Your mind deserves all the kindness in the world, after all, it’s going to be your little friend for life! Try and show yourself a little more love and compassion every day by indulging in some much-needed self-care. Talking of self-care, we’ve all heard about self-care routines, but let’s acknowledge that each person’s idea of self-care may differ drastically from another person. For you, self-care may be about listening to your favourite music while lying in bed, but for another, it may be about packing in a 30-minute workout every day. Your self-care routine doesn’t have to look like what you see in magazines and on social media. There’s no right or wrong here, you do you!
Just as the sun comes up every day, so does a new internet trend, but you know what? It’s completely okay to not want to hop onto every trend and do your own thing. All you need to do is listen to yourself and focus on what makes you happy. Just choose what works for you, it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else, but you!
Also, remember, it’s okay to not be okay. If you are able to get yourself through this time, that’s more than enough. Just remember, when it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, you’ve got to be there for you!
