Onam, the ten-day harvest festival is one of the most important festivals of Kerala and this year is in August. People celebrate this festival as a homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali. Followed by the folk dances like Kathakali and Mohini Attam the Keralites spend these ten days decorating elephants, boats, indulging in traditional games, and so on. Kerala temperature in July starts getting better with monsoon magic and it creates a hypnotic spell in the minds of people along with the elaborate feasts.
