The Sao Joao festival is celebrated during the monsoons, and the whole of Goa is decorated with beautiful decorations. It all feels like a big carnival and is definitely a sight you do not want to miss. It is celebrated to honour Saint John the Baptist, the prophet who baptised Jesus. There is a Mass held at the church of St. John the Baptist in Benaulim on June 24, and the whole of Goa comes together to celebrate this day.
