Constructed back in 1605, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is undoubtedly one of the most famous churches in Goa. The baroque-style architecture of the church complements the vast expanse of the religious place. With marble gilded altars and marble flooring that have been inlaid with precious stones, the church does depict excellent architecture. No wonder it has found a sweet spot in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in India! Of course, one of the major highlights of the church is the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, the popular Jesuit saint, whose body has not decayed beyond death.
