Kalsubai
Distance from Mumbai: 150 km
Trek duration: 3–4 hours
Diffculty level: Moderate to difficult
Kalsubai, also known as the Everest of Maharashtra, is the tallest peak in Maharashtra with a height of 5,400 ft and is one of the best places to trek in the monsoon near Mumbai. It is a moderately complex trek but an exhilarating one simultaneously, and the payoff is far better than the climb. Once you reach the summit, you will be welcomed by beautiful, lush green scenery, panoramic views of the surroundings, and clouds. The journey is divided into diverse patches like jungles, streams, rocky terrain, and ladders, and it tends to get slippery during monsoons, so we would suggest getting shoes with a good grip and being careful during the climb. Our pro tip? Start your trek at night so you can be at the peak for a glorious sunrise.
