The Bangalore Airport is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), which is a public limited company. Kempegowda International Airport lacks a connection with the main city as it is approximately 40 km away from the city centre. The government had planned to bring forth a link between the city and the airport with metro stations.
