By Air
Mumbai is one of the busiest cities in India, as is the city's domestic and international airport. As the commercial capital of the country, the city's domestic and international airports are admirably connected to big cities in the country and globally. Flights to and from Mumbai fly to various big cities in India such as Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Guwahati and basically most of the cities in the country. Formerly known by the name Sahar International Airport, the airport was re-christened to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Terminal 2) while the domestic airport has been named Santacruz Airport (Terminal 1). The airport has major Indian and international airlines stationed at the airport. These include IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, Etihad Airways, Emirates and more. About Air Seychelles
Air Seychelles is the official flag carrier of the Republic of Seychelles. The airline's headquarters is located in Seychelles International Airport. It is right on the island of Mahe and primarily operates inter-island as well as international route flights. They also have charter flights that operate from the Seychelles International Airport. Currently, 40 percent of the airline is owned by Etihad Airways. Originally commenced as Air Mahe and Inter-Island Airways, the airline witnessed a massive merger with the government of Seychelles to form Seychelles Airlines. The merger took place in 1977 and Seychelles Airlines was founded. Domestic route operations commenced following the airline's inception where they used aircraft such as Britten-Norman Trislander, Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander and eventually a Short 360. The airline was renamed as Air Seychelles in 1978 with the international route to London and Frankfurt commencing in 1983. The airline witnessed a surge in the passenger traffic and demand to reach the island country. In retaliation, the airline purchased two Boeing 707-320 aircraft and named them Silhouette and Mahe.
In 2012, Air Seychelles received an investment from the United Arab Emirates' national carrier, Etihad Airways. Due to mismanagement and profitability issues that cropped up in Air Seychelles, the airline received help from an outside party. The airline invested about USD 45 million in the airline and raked in a 40 per cent share too. After suffering from loss for two years in a row, the airline initiated a plan to restructure and reposition itself and ensure to go back to its profit-making days. In the same year, Air Seychelles entered codeshare agreements with UAE's Etihad Airways and started operating flights to Abu Dhabi and to connect to other Etihad Airways' slew of destinations. The airline announced a two-year business plan in the same year and included plans of renewal of its fleet too.
Further, they leveraged Etihad Airways' equity partnership, also known as Etihad Airways Partners. They introduced the addition of Airbus A330-200 aircraft and changed its two-decade-long fleet which majorly comprised of all Boeing aircraft. With this, the airline also increased the flight frequency to some of its key destinations.
Air Seychelles has been receiving close cooperation from Etihad Airways as it is a part-owner of the airline. Following their 2012 business-plan announcement that was charted out for two years, the airline declared a net profit of USD 3.2 million. In 2018, the airline announced that it plans to close its only long-haul route to Paris and return the two Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft that is part of its fleet. They opted to put all their focus on the regional network instead of focussing on the international routes. Air Seychelles is aiming for long-term profitability and sustainability and plans to work on the same lines. This move is in response to the rapid increase in the competition. On the same, the airline's CEO Remco Althuis stated that the launch of competitive air services that would pose a threat to Air Seychelles' flights to and from Paris has accounted for the route to be unsustainable. Hence, to not entertain the possible loss-making route that would be a challenge for Air Seychelles, the airline would be putting all their energy on its domestic routes and regional networks.
Fleet size of Air Seychelles
Air Seychelles' fleet size is seven and comprises only two types of aircraft, Airbus A320neo and Viking Air DHC-6-400 Twin Otter. Right after the restructuring of Air Seychelles as the United Arab Emirates' national carrier Etihad Airways made an investment, the airline's fleet also underwent some changes. They introduced the Airbus A330-200 and converted their all-Boeing fleet into a mixed one. In 2011, the airline changed its traditional red, white and green-hued livery to a newly acquired company colour. They originally had a red, white and green local hue along with two white terns (A small seabird that is found across the tropical oceans of the world. It is also recognised as a fairy tern and is called Gygis alba). The new livery of Air Seychelles was painted in its first-ever Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. As for the new colours chosen by the airline, it comprises a mix of blue, green, white and red, painted on its tail end. The airline has not announced any new orders of aircraft to join Air Seychelles' fleet.
Baggage Allowance
Baggage allowance in Air Seychelles is limited to business class and economy class cabins. Adults travelling from the business class are allowed to carry a baggage that weighs not more than 32 kg. While the said weight is mandatory, the airline does give the passengers the freedom to extend their baggage weight. However, it cannot go beyond 40 kg. Only two items of baggage are allowed per passenger in the business class. Travellers choosing the economy class are allowed to carry baggage that weigh not more than 20 kg. Each item of the checked baggage can max go up to 30 kg but not more than that. As for hand baggage, the airline allows economy class passengers to carry 7 kg of baggage allowance. The airline allows one piece of baggage and one accessory bag. As for passengers travelling in the first class, the airline allows 12 kg baggage. Along with the hand baggage, Air Seychelles further allows an accessory bag for passengers to carry with them onboard. It is essential for passengers to make sure that the dimension of the baggage is within 75cm x 43cm x 90cm for the checked baggage. Meanwhile, the hand baggage dimension should be no more than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.

About Mumbai Airport
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, which was acknowledged as Sahar International Airport, is a prominent international airport that serves the Mumbai metropolis. It is deemed to be the second busiest airport in India, after Delhi, with respect to international passenger traffic and cargo traffic. Recently, the airport crossed London's Gatwick Airport to become the world's busiest airports to operate a single runway at a time. The airport is sprawled across 1,850 acres and takes care of about 950 aircraft movements in a day. The airport has been awarded various titles including, "Best Airport in India and Central Asia". Mumbai airport is also recognised as one of the three airports to implement Airport Collaborative Decision Making in India. About Mumbai Airport Terminals
Initially, the Mumbai Airport, also previously known as Sahar International Airport, had both the international and domestic terminals located in the same airport. With the introduction of T2, the terminals were divided into dedicated domestic and international airports, sharing the same runway and airport complex. The domestic airport, also called the Santacruz Airport, served flights to primarily operate domestic airlines and low-cost carriers. Meanwhile, the international airport focussed on international airlines and flights flying out of the city. However, much recently, all the domestic and international flight activities have been shifted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Terminal 2 has many provisions, including multi-level parking for 5,000 cars, 192 check-in counters, 60 immigration counters for departure, 14 baggage carousels and 76 immigration booths for arrival. There are many numerous lounges, including the GVK lounge, which is a luxury lounge. There are lounges for Business class travellers and first-class passengers as well.
About airport authority
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is owned and served by MIAL (Mumbai International Airport Private Limited). MIAL is a consortium of GVK Industries Ltd., Bidvest, Airports Company South Africa and Airports Authority of India. While the consortium holds 74 per cent ownership, the other 26 per cent is owned by the Airports Authority of India. Ever since the MIAL venture has come into existence, the international airport has witnessed tremendous infrastructural growth. There are tremendous improvements in terms of the aesthetics, passenger convenience, design and refurbishing of the domestic terminals 1A&1B as well as the international terminals 2B & 2C. A new domestic terminal 1C has also been introduced in Terminal 2. MIAL has also undertaken projects to improve the taxiways, aprons and rehabilitation of both the runways.
