Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport or better known as Nagpur Airport is an international airport that serves the city of Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra. Situated about 8 km south-west of Nagpur in the town of Sonegaon, the airport was originally founded during the First World War as part of the Royal Air Force. The airport underwent renovation during World War II when it was utilised as a staging airfield by the Royal Air Force. Nagpur Airport has only one new integrated terminal building that came into existence in 2008. The airport authority has made some significant changes in the upgradation and modification of Nagpur Airport for the better. The Bangalore Airport is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), which is a public limited company.
