Indira Gandhi International Airport is the country's top international and domestic airport hub, located in the capital, New Delhi. About New Delhi Airport Terminals
Indira Gandhi International Airport is a hub to various domestic and international airlines. The airport serves about 80 airlines and hence, has three active passenger terminals. Special Hajj terminal, as well as a cargo terminal, is also present at the airport. Terminal 1 is presently being used for low-cost carriers such as IndiGo and SpiceJet. However, DIAL plans to expand the terminal and augment the passenger handling capacity. Terminal 1C is dedicated to domestic arrivals. The terminal has been upgraded with an extensive area for greeting, and better luggage reclaims area. There are eight belts here.
Terminal 1D has been built for domestic departure and can accommodate 15 million passengers per year. About New Delhi authority
The airport was originally operated by the Indian Air Force. However, the management was then transferred to the Airports Authority of India.
