Kuwait Airways is the national flag carrier of Kuwait and has its headquarters on the grounds of the Kuwait International Airport, located in Al Farwaniyah Governorate. The airline purchased two Dakotas to join its fleet the same year which carried 8,966 passengers in total, in its first year of operations. In 1955, the airline dropped 'national' from its name and adopted Kuwait Airways as the official name for the airline.
