Kuwait Airways is the national flag carrier of Kuwait and has its headquarters on the grounds of the Kuwait International Airport, located in Al Farwaniyah Governorate. In 1962, Kuwait Airways ordered two Trident type-aircraft, becoming the manufacturer's first customer. The following year, they received their first Comet and the airline added one more order for the same aircraft.
