About Paris
The City of Love and capital of France, Paris is one place where you would literally want to stay back. It is a global hub for fashion, art, culture and gastronomy, which only makes it more desirable. The city is also an abode to many of the biggest tourist attractions in the world such as Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the famous Musée du Louvre.
Best time to visit Paris
Summer is undoubtedly the most ideal time to visit Paris. The city opens its tourist avenues for the crowds that arrive from different parts of the world. The city of love bustles with joyful travellers soaking in all the lovely vibe. Not to mention how the sun is pleasantly adding to the fervour while you wrestle through queues to see some tourist attractions. Lovely as everything about a summer in Paris might sound, you should know that it comes at a whopping sum. The peak season comes with exorbitant accommodation charges. To book a hotel in Paris during this season, you will have to have a lot of savings or enough budget reserved. The city does witness some of its fun holidays and festivals such as Tour de France, Bastille Day, fete de St-Denis, Fête de la Musique, to name a few. It also rains during this period so best to carry an umbrella or a raincoat if you wish to go ahead for a summer trip to Paris. However, for those who want to keep away from all the excess touristy crowd and experience a quaint Paris, you should pick September and October.
Paris in fall is typically cheaper with fewer tourists and more space to soak in the romantic city. Much like how the temperatures start to drop in these months, the prices of hotels and hostels also fall. This is definitely the best time to visit Paris, especially since you will get to see the top attractions of the city without having to wait in long queues. However, make sure that you book your hotels and trip in advance if you're rooting for September. The month hosts the famous Paris Fashion Week in September, so getting a cheap hotel in Paris would be difficult.
Places to visit in Paris
You will need a good number of days in hand to cover the majority of tourist attractions in Paris. The city of love is quite gifted in terms of attractions which include the Eiffel Tower, the Notre-Dame, the Louvre, to name a few. You can start with the Notre-Dame Cathedral. It is easily one of the iconic locations of Paris that are on par with the fame of the Eiffel Tower. Speaking of which, your next destination could be the Eiffel Tour. As part of the staunch Wonders of the World list, Eiffel Tower architecture and the romanticism it has followed over the years makes it a landmark. One can simply not skip the Eiffel Tower. In fact, if you've got enough euros in your kitty, you can further go to the top of the structure and indulge in some fine dining while looking down at the stunning city. Little needs to be told about Paris' Musée du Louvre, one of the biggest art museums in Europe and the most colossal museum around the world. The museum has actually been converted into one from the palace of the 13th-century French king Philip II. With a grand exhibition of over 35,000 artwork, including the famous Mona Lisa painting, the museum is too beautiful for words and brings back history and art culture from ancient times.
These might be the iconic sites to visit, many other lovely locales deserve your attention too. Le Marais is one such place to visit as it has been related to the famous French author, Victor Hugo (who authored The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Les Misérables). The place has the tendency to take you back in time to medieval Paris. Musee de l'Orangerie is a museum that has been brought into existence to feature a variety of impressionist and post-impressionist art. Many artists have dedicated their lives to emulating the works of famous artists. The museum basically celebrates these heroes for their work. It might be odd to add a cemetery in the list of places to visit in Paris. However, the Père-Lachaise Cemetery is so stunning with a maze of cobblestone pathways that it automatically brings forth a charm to space. Palais Garnier - Opera National de Paris continues to send a vibe of architectural opulence and grandiose after all these years.
Things to do in Paris
Balancing between sightseeing, shopping, exploring the city, attending the opera, delving in the culinary bliss of Paris is all too much to do. You will need to fix a good plan to at least cover the big attractions before you settle to go on your own Paris expedition. You can take your loved one on a lovely river cruise by Bateaux Parisiens. It will be just as dreamy as it sounds. Not to mention A walk down the Champs-Élysées is all you need to invoke the shopaholic in you. From luxury stores of Louis Vuitton and Hugo Boss to widespread establishments such as Gap and Zara, the street has a treat for all your shopping needs. You can splurge by taking home a designer Chanel Number 5, or you can resort to just walking the streets and marvelling at the sights of what is considered as one of the fashion industry's meccas. You can also take a stroll around Paris and stand atop the bridge over the Seine River. It is a beautiful and romantic site. Indulging in winery and visiting a vineyard is something you shouldn't miss as the best wines come from France.

Thanks to their contribution towards the culinary world, the food in Paris is nothing short of Très Bien. Places such as Marais, Champs-Elysées and Eiffel Tower are places where you will find upscale fine dining experiences. Meanwhile, 2ème arrondissement (second district) is reserved for cheap and affordable eateries as well as cafes. Wherever you travel in Paris though, the lovely scent of French onion soup, steak frites, croque-monsieur and coquilles St-Jacques will follow you. Their patisserie scenes are just extraordinary. With desserts like macarons, crêpes, pain au chocolat and puits d'amours, you cannot escape those urges to rake in more calories during your trip. Well, you might as well read celebrated American foodie Julia Child's book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" or watch Meryl Streep-Amy Adams' starrer Julie and Julia, to know more about French cooking.
French food is an experience and a culture you should learn more about. It just gets more fascinating as you divulge into their styles and tastes. As for some cafes that fall in your budget, visit Cafe Pinson, Semilla, Du Pain et des Idées, Frenchie Wine Bar, La Tête dans les Olives, L'Ami Jean and L'Autre Café, to name a few. About Eurowings
Eurowings GmbH is a low-cost German airline with its headquarters in Dusseldorf. The airline is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group and is wholly owned by the airline's company. Eurowings was founded by Lufthansa Group in 1996 and continues to serve as the best option for domestic routes as well as European destinations. Further, the airline also caters to long-haul routes. It has its base located at various airports namely Berlin Tegel Airport, Dusseldorf Airport, Munich Airport, Salzburg Airport, Stuttgart Airport, Cologne Bonn Airport, Hannover Airport, Vienna International Airport, Pristina International Airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, Hamburg Airport, and Nuremberg Airport. In recent years, the airline has witnessed tremendous transformations. Up until 2014, the airline was a part of Lufthansa Regional. However, the following year, they started functioning under Germanwings and catered to their network of destinations. By 2015, Eurowings redeveloped into a full-fledged low-cost carrier that operated short-haul and long haul flights. The same year, Eurowings also incorporated a route network set by Germanwings as the two brands merged.
The airline came into existence in 1993 as two of Germany's commuter airlines Nürnberger Flugdienst (NFD) and Reise- und Industrieflug (RFG), based out of Nuremberg and Dortmund, merged to form Eurowings. Right after its formation, the airline included ATR 42 and ATR 72 as part of its fleet to commence operations. Subsequently, they added BAe 146 and Airbus A320 were also added to the fleet. Larger Airbus aircraft, including Airbus A310, was also involved in the new fleet. Initially, Lufthansa had 24.9 percent stakes in the airline. However, by 2004, Lufthansa increased its stakes in the airline and raised it to 49 per cent. By 2011, the German airline took up complete ownership of Eurowings. During this time, Eurowings also owned a subsidiary called Germanwings as a branch of the low-cost carrier. There are plans to merge the two airlines and bring them under TUIfly. However, Lufthansa announced that it would acquire Germanwings from Eurowings. Moreover, Lufthansa's plans were to enhance Eurowings' reach in the regional route and bring forth a wider market range for both Eurowings and Germanwings.
Following the merger, the airline has extended much of its short-haul and long haul routes. In 2019, Lufthansa made a statement that Eurowings will be introducing long-haul flights between Frankfurt and Munich intending to expand its hub (Lufthansa's hub, Frankfurt) and make it more tourist-oriented. Further, as part of the announcement, Lufthansa revealed that the original routes of Eurowings would be operated from Frankfurt to cities such as Mauritius, Windhoek, Barbados along with a Bangkok route from Munich. The same year, Lufthansa also announced that they would be dropping long haul flights to enable Eurowings to focus only on short-haul services with Airbus A320-family aircraft. Meanwhile, the long-haul flight operations will be spread out in Lufthansa's other network airlines such as Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. Lufthansa also announced that it would be scrapping plans of integrating Brussels Airlines with Eurowings in 2020. Brussels Airlines will continue to work with Lufthansa's network partners and play a key role in Lufthansa's turnaround plan.
Fleet size of Eurowings
As of 2020, Eurowings holds a strong fleet consisting predominantly of variants from the Airbus family. Presently, it has about 50 Airbus A320-200s, 24 Airbus A319-100s, seven Airbus A330-200s, four Airbus A319-100s, Airbus A321-200s and Airbus A330-300s and finally, three Boeing 737-800s. The fleet size also includes aircraft belonging to Eurowings Europe along with Eurowings. Lufthansa has ordered for 20 Airbus A320neos that are slated to be delivered to the airline between 2021 and 2022. The Airbus A320neos is the only aircraft that the airline has ordered and is awaiting deliveries so they can join the fleet. The airline has catered to add special liveries to its aircraft. In 2018, the airline painted its Airbus A320-200 with the registration D-ABDQ has been painted in a Europa Park livery with a view to promoting the largest park in Germany. In 2019, the airline also went creative with its new Airbus A320-200's livery as they added a '100-years-of-Hertz' as part of its special livery. In the past, Eurowings did accommodate a slew of Boeings and Bombardier aircraft as part of its fleet. However, they were all eventually retired to make the fleet rich with Airbus aircraft.
Baggage Allowance
Eurowings' baggage allowance depending on the type of ticket purchased by the passenger. The airline allows a passenger to carry one hand luggage which can weigh as much as 8 kg. The measurements of the baggage should be within the measurements of 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm. The hand luggage facility is free and comes with the ticket so the passenger wouldn't have to pay an extra amount or purchase extra baggage at the airport. Eurowings does recommend that the passenger get all the information from the airline ahead of the travel date. Since not all hand luggage can be accommodated on board, it would be best for the passenger to learn if they are eligible for the service. Along with the hand luggage, the airline also allows an accessory bag which could be either a handbag or a laptop bag or even a briefcase. The idea is for the bag to fit under the front seat during taking off and landing. Checked baggage should weigh no more than 23 kg. In case the passenger has extra baggage and needs to purchase more to accommodate all the items, they will have to visit the airline's official website and pay a certain tariff to acquire more baggage allowance.
In-flight services
As part of Lufthansa, Eurowings also offers the best in-flight services and hospitality from trained flight attendants. The airline's aircraft are well-equipped with the best facilities ranging from upscale seats to in-flight entertainment and meals. Passengers can either book their meals while booking tickets or they can purchase the same onboard. The layout of cabins along with seating configuration is catered to add convenience to the passenger. Not to mention how every seat is equipped with good amenities such as decent legroom, personal lamp, armrest, personalised entertainment system, power plugs and more. Passengers can also request for blankets, pillows, earplugs and other such kits on medium and long haul flights.
