ANA played the launchpad to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in 2004 and ordered about 50 examples of the same. The orders were then split between short-range 787-3 and 20 long-haul 787-8, but the variants were changed by the airlines. IN 2014, the airlines cemented its orders for seven A320neos, 20 Boeing 777-9Xs, six Boeing 777-300ERs, Airbus A321neos and Boeing 787-9s, to be utilised for short as well as long-haul fleet. The following year, All Nippon Airways also ordered Airbus and Boeing fleet that was worth about USD 2.2 billion. In the same year, the airlines also indulged in an agreement with Airbus in exchange for support to help Skymark Airlines from further bankruptcy.
